On the Italian jazz scene, Saihs is one of the most nationally recognized emerging ensembles. Formed in Florence in 2023, the sextet won First Prize in the “Chicco Bettinardi” jazz band competition in February 2024, and in July 2023, they also won First Prize in the group competition organized by the Eddie Lang Jazz Festival. Saihs has also reached the finals of several major Italian jazz competitions, including the Conad Jazz Contest, Premio Isio Saba, Barga Jazz Contest, Fara Jazz Contest, Nu Jazz Contest, and Onyx Jazz Contest. Their repertoire consists of original jazz compositions that draw from modern and contemporary jazz sounds, as well as arrangements of jazz standards.
