All around the world there are innumerable ways to chant and countless things to be achieved by doing so. But the first thing is to calm and focus your mind. From there you can go anywhere.

With these tunes we tried to simplify, concentrate, go beyond concepts and create a peaceful open space to step into. We tried to forget about ourselves as musicians and just play music. For us, for you.

Follow us into that peaceful place and just watch things unfold and pass. Stories, moods, thoughts. Join and complete the „whole“ that music is about.

Where is the transition from Acoustic Jazz to Electronic Music? Is it really possible to find rhythmic elements from Philadelphia Style, Westcoast Jazz, Soul and all that spirit of Stax in a shockingly new sonic environment? Don’t ask. Just focus your mind!

The compositional creativity of Wolfgang Puschnig, combined with Linda Sharrock’s vocal style were the roots of this spectacular recording. For “chants” Wolfgang and Linda brought together a band of musicians who exactly know how to translate those ideas to their instruments. The power unfolds.

The result is inward-looking but not esoteric, calm, but not meditative. Worksongs with contemporary elements. CHANTS. Focus your mind!
