Mons Records
Mons Records was founded in 1991 by drummer and ex-big-band leader Thilo Berg. In the 90´s their jazz productions centered around American musicians such as: Jeff Hamilton, Clark Terry, Ray Brown, Benny Green, Eric Reed, Ralph Moore, George Robert, Nancy King, Dee Daniels and Allan Harris. According to the Gavin Report in 1995 Mons Records was the most successful independent label played on American radio stations. During the past few years Mons jazz productions have mainly concentrated on different european artists as Metropole Orchestra, Swiss Jazz Orchestra, Zürich Jazz Orchestra, Triosence, BBOB, Benyamin Nuss, Ivan Paduart, Rüdiger Baldauf, Denis Gäbel. In 2005 the album, Away for a while from the new comer band “Triosence” received much acclaim from the media. Besides many awards, the band was recognized by the German “STERN” magazine with a five-star full page article.
Music by "Mons" can be found in various film productions including 'Double Jeopardy' with Tom Lee Jones and Ashly Judd and US TV shows (American Idol - 'so you think you can dance' by Swingin fireballs).
