Enthusiastic reviews, avid listeners, various awards: The big success of „Obacht! Music From Bavaria 1“ from 2008 proved that the world was waiting to discover real Bavarian folk music. People from all over the world wanted to get to know what‘s beyond the so called „Volkstümliche Musik“ and the Oktoberfest-folklore. „Obacht! 1“ showed in a surprising way how diverse, humorous, emotional and moving the true and living vivid music from Bavaria can be.

Since there‘s still so much more to find on this wide field than one album can cover, here comes „Obacht! Music From Bavaria 2” which contains another 31 tracks. Again, this collection was compiled by Ulrike Zöller, Bavarian folk expert from Bavarian Radio BR. And again “Obacht! 2” brings together artists and groups from all over Bavaria with all their very different styles, instruments and traditions.

The recordings are in big part made by the bands themselves, were produced by special associations that take care of bavarian folkmusic or recorded by the public radio-stations like the Bavarian Radio BR and are fairly new to a wider audience. An especial emphasis was placed on the authenticity of the recordings in order to transmit the very special charm of this music.
