Multi-instrumentalist, composer and musical researcher Renzo Ruggiero
releases PRISMA Vol.1, his new solo album, published by Liburia Records World and distributed
worldwide in both digital and physical formats by Liburia Records, Xango Music and Galileo
Music Communication.
Following more than twenty-five years devoted to early and traditional music, Ruggiero presents a
deeply personal work that blends contemporary composition with the rich musical heritage of
different cultures.
An internationally active multi-instrumentalist, he specializes in the Nyckelharpa, the Swedish
keyed fiddle dating back to the 14th century, and the Santur, the ancient Persian hammered
dulcimer. Throughout his career he has performed with numerous ensembles across Europe,
focusing on traditional repertoires while developing his own distinctive musical language.
His original compositions have been selected and performed by the European Nyckelharpa
Orchestra, and he has played a significant role in promoting the instrument in Italy as a member of
the European Nyckelharpa Training educational program.
Currently based in Spain, Ruggiero collaborates on a wide variety of artistic productions, including
live soundtracks for silent films and theatre performances for children. He was also a member of
Ana Alcaide's ensemble, continues developing his artistic project Sapori e Musica, combining
Italian cuisine and live music, and recently toured Japan with the acclaimed flamenco company
Arte y Solera, performing in their new production premiered in Tokyo.
Following his acclaimed debut solo album Alma, PRISMA Vol.1 marks a new stage in his artistic
evolution.
PRISMA VOL.1
More than an album title, Prisma represents the central concept behind the project.
Like a prism refracting light into countless colors, the music transforms according to each listener's
perspective. Every experience becomes unique, shaped by personal emotions, memories and
perceptions.
Rather than delivering a fixed message, the album invites listeners to actively engage with the
music, allowing each composition to reveal different meanings through individual interpretation.
Reflecting on the creative process, Renzo Ruggiero explains:
"A product is designed to be finished, completed and presented. Its purpose is to be released, to
function, to be consumed. A process, instead, is alive. When I stopped thinking about the album as a
product, I stopped chasing results and started listening more deeply. Listening to what every sound,
every silence and every moment was asking for. That changed everything."
He continues:
"The creative process became slower and more honest. I'm no longer trying to prove anything or
meet expectations. I'm simply accompanying something that is taking shape. In that sense, Prisma
Vol.1 is not something I made. It is something I went through."
With PRISMA Vol.1, Renzo Ruggiero offers an immersive musical journey where tradition,
experimentation and contemporary expression converge, inviting every listener to discover a
personal perspective through sound.
