JOYCE NOTES is Louis Stewart’s six-part suite based on scenes from James Joyce’s groundbreaking novel, Ulysses, performed at the Cork Jazz Festival in 1982 by an Irish-American octet with readings from Dublin-born actor Eamon Morrissey.
Though not renowned as a composer, in JOYCE NOTES Stewart produced an artistically bold and adventurous work, merging jazz composition with modern literature.
JOYCE NOTES comes with a detailed 16-page booklet, containing sleeves notes from noted journalist Philip Watson, and several original performance photographs.
