Durch die tiefer gestimmte Kammertonhöhe von 400 Hertz und den Einsatz zweier historischer Instrumente mit Darmsaiten entstehen farbenprächtige Klangwelten. Das selten zu hörende Violoncello Piccolo mit seiner zusätzlichen fünften Saite eröffnet in der sechsten Suite am Ende des Zyklus eine überraschende neue Perspektive.
