Luis Nacht Trio is an international contemporary
jazz ensemble featuring Argentine
saxophonist Luis Nacht, bassist
Demian Cabaud, and drummer Jeff
Williams. With no harmonic
instrument, the trio
embraces free improvisation
and spontaneous
dialogue, crafting an
open, unpredictable, and
deeply expressive sound.
In 2024, they embarked on
their first European tour,
performing in venues across
Portugal and Spain, including Nova
Jazz Cava, Jimmy Glass, and Maus
Hábitos. During that journey, they
recorded their debut studio album in
Barcelona, presenting original compositions
that reflect the trio’s raw and direct musical
approach.
This project brings together three firmly established voices in
the international jazz scene. Nacht is a key figure in Argentine
jazz; Cabaud is a member of the Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos
in Portugal; and Williams has played with legends like Stan
Getz, Lee Konitz, and Dave Liebman. Their music is a celebration
of risk, deep listening, and creative freedom.
Furtivo
Furtivo was born during their 2024 European tour,
when Luis Nacht, Demian Cabaud, and Jeff
Williams decided to capture the spontaneous
chemistry of their live performances in a studio
session in Barcelona. With no harmonic instrument
and complete expressive freedom, the trio
embraced an open musical language where each
sound emerges in real time.
Recorded at Vértigo Estudio, the album features
original compositions that showcase the trio’s
maturity and deep musical connection. With a
raw and unfiltered aesthetic, Furtivo is an
exploration of contemporary jazz through
risk, attentive interplay, and fearless
improvisation.
More than a studio document,
Furtivo is a statement of intent: a
music without gimmicks, alive and
constantly evolving. A vivid
testimony to what happens when
three unique voices converge into a
shared creative impulse.
