Blues Vibes is actually the first album Abi Wallenstein and Ludwig Seuss have recorded together, although the two blues greats have been performing together on stage for years. In addition to two studio tracks, the album features live recordings that convey the band's energy and irresistible groove directly and unfiltered. The two are supported by Manfred Mildenberger on drums and Tom Peschel on bass, who are no less well known on the scene.p>
Abi Wallenstein
The ‘father of the Hamburg blues scene’, who has achieved cult status over the years, is one of the outstanding blues greats in Europe. Abi owes this to his more than 50 years on stage, with an average of 120 concerts a year, his unique guitar playing: the combination of simultaneous bass, rhythm and riff elements, his eight-string guitar, his rough voice and, last but not least, his confident stage presence. People love the gaunt, grey-haired man with the boyish laugh and warm charisma. His seemingly simple playing style, characterised by rhythmic bass runs and simultaneously played chords and melody lines, fascinates music lovers across genre boundaries. Add to that his voice, as authentic and convincing as he is himself.
Ludwig Seuss
With 13 CDs under his belt and countless concerts, Ludwig Seuss has grown in recent years to become one of the most interesting and sought-after German blues and zydeco performers. As a blues and boogie pianist with the Spider Murphy Gang, among others, as one of the most accomplished organists in Germany and as one of the best zydeco accordionists and composers east of the Mississippi, Munich's LUDWIG SEUSS has long been playing in the top groove league. SEUSS has always been a team player and a musician's musician, who values the band concept more than being the centre of attention. LUDWIG SEUSS mixes classic piano boogie with jump blues and Louisiana R&R. Since he also imported Zydeco from New Orleans and his fellow musicians romp behind him as if they were in the deepest swamps of Louisiana, his extremely danceable sound has been unstoppable.
