King Crimson live performances are always special and the resulting live albums have long been a cornerstone of the band’s reputation but the current line-up is shaping up to be the most revered yet – not a bad record given the band’s first breakthrough concert (supporting The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park) was, at time of writing, 49 years ago to the week.
The Letters and Cirkus are drawn from the live albums in Chicago and Vienna respectively, while Larks’ II comes from the Blu-Ray of the Radical Action set & Red is a preview from the forthcoming Live in Mexico album.
Each side of the gatefold sleeve features one of the 4 pictures (above) which form the main image of the tour poster and were painted by Francesca Sundsten.
Manufactured as a special edition for sale to attendees at King Crimson concerts on the band’s European tour, 2018, a limited number of these double vinyl sets are being made available via standard retail sources so fans of the band who can’t attend the shows can obtain a set.
