      Im Jahr 2000 sah Catriona Macdonald einen ihrer Träume beim Glasgows Celtic Connection Festival am 21. Jahuar Realität werden. Ihr Traum war es, einige der besten Fiddlerinnen zusammenzubringen und die Leute damit zu begeistern. Dies war ihr erster Auftritt als String Sisters. Colin Hynd von den Celtic Connections ergriff die Chance dieser Premiere auf seinem Festival und die Erfahrung war für alle sehr bewegend. Die präsentierten musikalischen Traditionen stammen aus Irland/Amerika, Shetland/Schottland, Irland und Skandinavien. Annbjørg vertritt letzteres, Catriona MacDonald stammt aus Shetland, Liz Carroll und Liz Knowles aus den USA und Mairead ni Mhaonaigh (von der irischen Folkband Altan) und Emma Härdelin aus Schweden. Härdelin ersetzte Natalie MacMaster aus Kanada aus der Anfangsformation.
