This wonderful performance, previously unreleased, which took place in Stockholm in 1988, is finally available on DVD. Gerry Mulligan performs two of his compositions for baritone sax and orchestra, together with the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Dennis Russell Davies. The concert is an amazing experience that involves the listener into Mulligan’s world where jazz and classical music merge to achieve a new musical shape. The first composition is “Entente” - arranged by Mulligan himself - meanwhile the second “The Sax Chronicles”, in five movements, do homage to five of the most important classical music composers. The DVD includes also two special interviews with Gerry Mulligan as extras: one by Jon Olsson and the other by Kristin Lorentzson.
