      Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:
Violin Concerto in D major KV 218 · Symphony in D major KV 48
      Karl Amadeus Hartmann:
Suite No. 2 for Solo Violin · Concerto funèbre for Violin and Orchestra
bayerische kammerphilharmonie · Pietari Inkinen, conductor · Suyoen Kim, violin

For Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s 100th birthday, a young violinist is now introducing herself with Hartmann’s Concerto funèbre and Suite No. 2 for solo violin. Suyoen Kim was born in Münster in 1987 and began her studies in 1997 as the youngest student at the Münster Conservatory of Music with Prof. Helge Slaatto. When a barely 18-year-old violinist works intensively on music by a 20th century German composer, this is a certain sign of extraordinary musical independence. Suyoen Kim plays the Concerto funèbre as well as Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major on her debut CD, accompanied by the bayerische kammerphilharmonie, conducted by Pietari Inkinen. This CD is the young Finnish conductor’s debut as well. After previously performing as a violinist both in concert and on CD, this is his first recording as a conductor.
