MARC MIRALTA is, according to his music career, one of the most internationally acclaimed musicians of
the Spanish jazz scene.
He was one of the pioneers in fusion and a very active musician who has participated in many different
international projects. During his fruitful stay in New York he became a part of OAM Trio (Omer Avital,
Aaron Goldberg and Marc Miralta) and later on he released that legendary seminal flamenco jazz album
called “New York Flamenco Reunion” (2000), considered a must by all flamenco jazz aficionados and
critics, and which is the main reason to release this follow-up. That album was critically acclaimed and
became one of the breaking records of the newborn flamenco jazz scene.
Marc is back in 2013 to present his long awaited new album entitled “FLAMENCO REUNION”.
Fusion between jazz and flamenco has become, for some years now, the best international platform to
present and launch Spanish musicians such as MARC MIRALTA or sax player PERICO SAMBEAT. Both
are basic elements of the new MARC MIRALTA FLAMENCO REUNION band, along with double bass
player JAVIER COLINA and French pianist BAPTISTE TROTIGNON. Also guest artists on the album are
DAVID DOMÍNGUEZ playing ‘cajón’, and one of the most celebrated flamenco singers of this country,
BLAS CÓRDOBA ‘EL KEJÍO’.
Marc Miralta displays a new flamenco jazz repertoire including a bunch of self-penned compositions plus
other jazz standards personal renditions in order to connect the musical synergies and offer a highly
creative project to the public.
