This collection of instrumental "contraptions" abandons the dramatic, clever or ironic music of The Residents. Instead it is a series of tuned percussive patterns laid on top of each other like an audio mosaic. They take their beauty in a type of minimalism though this is not mathematical formula music. The sounds and structures are the result of human interaction and intervention.
