I started singing in my teens in my hometown, Cuernavaca, Morelos. At that time I played mostly in rock groups until I began traveling the country singing my own compositions to poems by León Felipe, Nicolás Guillén and Antonio Machado; in my travels I came in close contact with all sorts of people. The experience of traveling and really getting to know Mexico led me on to try to develop my own way of interpreting the beauty and the pain which is my country’s and all countries’ struggle for justice...
