JESÚS DE ROSARIO was born in Madrid, at Cañorroto neighbourhood. He began to play the guitar at the age
of 5 , learning from his father and teacher “El Entri”. When he was only 9 he participated at International
Talents of Norway TV Contest and 2 years later he already played the guitar at Paco Peña and Luisillo’s
companies touring all around Europe. At the age of 15 he joined Antonio Canales’ company and toured
South America and Europe. Later on, he worked as musical director with dancer Merche Esmeralda in the
creation of flamenco show “Mujeres”.
He has also played for very well known flamenco dancers such as “El Güito”, Juan Ramírez, Adrián Galia,
Joaquín Cortés, José Maya, Rafael Amargo, Carmen Cortés, Juan de Juan, Eva la Hierbabuena, la Tolea,
Juana Amaya, Miguel Toleo. And so did for flamenco singers such as Potito, Diego “El Cigala”, Miguel “El
Rubio”, José Mercé, Carmen Linares, Enrique Morente, Montse Cortés, Remedios Amaya, Duquende…
In 1998 he composed the music for Sara Baras’ shows “Sensaciones” y “Sueños” with whom he toured
Europe and USA several times. In 2000 he wrote the music for the Max Awards winner in three categories
“Juana la Loca”, which opened at Seville Biennial Flamenco Festival and obtained international success
in Japan, Mexico, Brazil, France, Venezuela, UK and Chile.
He composed the music for different flamenco shows: Antonio Canales’ “Minotauro”; Carmen Cortés’ “Tan
bien muere el mar” and “La puerta del silencio”; and
also Juan de Juan’s “Frente a frente”. He was guest
guitar on recordings by Guadiana, Mercedes Cortés,
Pepe Luis Carmona and Ramón Jiménez. He directed
and produced Sara Baras’ shows “Juana la Loca” and
“Vivir por amor” and participated as solo guitarist on
“The new school of flamenco guitar” album
nominated for Grammy Latino 2003.
In 2005 he released his debut solo album “Sin tanto” and was prized Best Newcomer Solo Guitar Album
from FLAMENCO HOY Awards given by flamenco critics. On that album he was accompanied by guest artists
Tomatito, Guadiana, Antonio Carmona, Sara Baras and “El Paquete”.
Now in 2012, JESUS DE ROSARIO is back with “Aquí te espero” (“Wait for you here”) the follow‐up to “Sin
Tanto”. Rumba, bulería, tangos, soleá, taranta… eight self‐penned tracks and one cover version of the
beautiful Ennio Morricone’s song “Cinema Paradiso”, entitled here as “Cinema Paradiso Flamenco”.
The album features guest collaborations by many great musicians and singers such as María Toledo, Miguel
de la Tolea, Juan Antonio Salazar, the Losada brothers, Juañares, Antonio “El Piculabe”, Mari Ángeles
Fernández, Samara Losada and Piraña, amongst others.
