To mark the 20th anniversary of their Nordic Christmas Tour, the Danish artistic duo Helene Blum and Harald Haugaard, together with their band, are releasing their first CD featuring pieces from their successful programme. With musical brilliance, singer Helene Blum and violinist Harald Haugaard bring to life all that this magical time of year and the Nordic winter have to offer, allowing the listener to feel what unites us. Whether new arrangements of traditional melodies or original compositions, Nordic traditions form their foundation, yet the artistic interpretation is decidedly modern, inspired by folk, jazz, pop and crossover projects.

The duo are supported on their recordings by Kirstine Elise Pedersen on the cello, Oskar Reuter on guitar and mandolin, and Sune Rahbek on drums and percussion. who has been a member of the Blum-Haugaard Band for many years.

The deep artistic trust and creative exchange within the ensemble are a stroke of luck. For as soon as the first notes ring out, the listener is swept up by the Christmas message, which is meant to encourage us all, especially in these times. Be hopeful! Light and peace will return.
