With Biharayto, which means “at the end” or “finally” in Aramaic, the oud player Elias Bachoura finally establishes himself as a soloist. Over time, he has acquired a dual knowledge of Eastern and Western music, which makes him critical and attentive in all circumstances. The subtlety, touch and innovation of his playing make him a reference musician.

Through eight personal compositions, Bachoura paints a world in which Eastern and Western influences merge, in which modal, tonal and atonal styles evoke countless images of revolutions, the world of the foreigner…

His pieces range from deep makams to elaborate compositions. Elias developed his own style in which, in addition to the Syrian tradition of Damascus, his teachers Askar Alikbirof (Azerbaijan) and the legendary Munir Bashir (Iraq) resonate, complemented by his Western classical training, under the direction of Belgian teacher Daniele Capelletti.
