Aus dem Aufeinandertreffen von Daniele di Bonaventuras Band'union und Sängerin Ilaria Pilar Patassini entsteht eine stimmungsvolle, musikalische Reise in die Schönheit Italiens. Traditionelle Melodien und Dialekte werden auf elegante und leidenschaftliche Weise mit Farben des Jazz und Folk bereichern und neu interpretiert. Das Album „Italia Folksongs“ präsentiert sich als kultiviertes und populäres Album mit bekannten und weniger bekannten, aber nicht weniger wertvollen Kompositionen: vom neapolitanischen „Varca Lucente“ über die Abbruzzen mit „vola vola“, von romanischen Texten in „la serenata“ von Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli bis zum sardischen „Ave Maria Sarda“. „Italia Folksongs“ ist ein zeitloses Zeugnis italienischer Musik in ihrer ganzen regionalen Vielfalt an Melodien und Rhythmen, die weit über die Landesgrenzen bekannt sind.

Biografie

Daniele di Bonaventura ist ein international anerkannter Komponist, Arrangeur, Pianist und Bandone-Spieler, der sich seit geraumer Zeit mit improvisiertr Musik auseinandersetzt. Seine Zusammenarbeit reicht von klassischer bis zu zeitgenössischer Musik, von Jazz bis Tango, von ethnischer Musik bis zu Weltmusik, mit Ausflügen in die Welt des Theaters, des Kinos und des Tanzes. Er hat auf großen internationalen Festivals in mehr als 40 Ländern gespielt, mehr als 80 Platten für verschiedene Labels veröffentlicht.

Ilaria Pilar Patassini wurde in Rom als Tochter eines etruskischen Vaters und einer aus den Wäldern Costa Ricas stammenden Mutter geboren. Sie hat eine akademische Ausbildung und ist Absolventin des Konservatoriums für Gesang und Kammermusik, sie spricht Englisch und Französisch. Als Performerin, Songwriterin und Darstellerin war ihr Weg schon immer mit Jazz, Weltmusik, Folk, Songwriting und Spoken Word verwoben. Seit 2015 ist sie Dozentin für Interpretation an der Officina Pasolini in Rom.

Die 2003 gegründete Band'Union ist ein Quartett bestehend aus Marcello Peghìn (10-saitige Gitarre), Felice Del Gaudio (Kontrabass), Alfredo Laviano (Schlagzeug) und Daniele di Bonaventura (Bandoneon). Ins Leben gerufen wurde das Ensemble von Daniele di Bonaventura und vereint Musiker von großem künstlerischem Format und Feingefühl, die durch Musik und große Freundschaft miteinander verbunden sind. Im Laufe der Jahre hat sich Band'Union als Grenzgänger an der Schnittstelle zwischen ethnischer Musik, Jazz, Weltmusik und Improvisation etabliert.

3.Ave Maria (o Deus Ti Salvet Maria) (Sardegna)

The lyrics are a translation of a religious text on the Virgin Mary by the Jesuit priest Innocenzo Innocenzi (1624-1697) which was set to music with the aim to promote Christianity.

4.Vola vola vola (Abruzzo)
