Tarquim, is a musical project dedicated to the creation of new songs from the study of different folk and popular musical traditions. It is led by the saxophonist, flutist, composer and producer Pau Vidal. 'A Cuba' arises from Vidal's admiration for the Cuban and Afro-Cuban musical tradition. That led him to settle for nine months in Havana to study with some of the best musicians on the island such as José Eladio Amat Medina, ‘Julito’ Padrón, Lázaro Hernández or Eduardo Rubio, flutist of the emblematic Aragón Orchestra. With the intention of knowing, sharing and learning about the different cultural manifestations in their most complete dimension, not only through records. They are, guaracha, discharge, bolero, salsa ... Pure Rhythm!
