Singer Laura Mustonen leads this jazz quartet into exciting musical territories, the Finnish forests and landscapes, with her musical composing partner - pianist Aleksis Liukko. Formed in 2013 the band released their first EP Le Lac in 2015. The EP was impressive enough to catch the ears of many festival heads. The has since played all the major Finnish jazz festivals like Pori Jazz, Jazz Espa and We Jazz in Helsinki. Themes of light and darkness are present in the compositions which feature the vocal talents of Laura Mustonen in Finnish language as well as English, Spanish and, occasionally, without words. The songwriting duo of Mustonen and Liukko are backed up by two rising talents of the young Finnish generation: Joonas Tuuri on bass and Jesse Ojajärvi on drums. Laura Mustonen is a graduate of the Helsinki Metropolia university and has also studied at the Sibelius Academy and the conservatory of Barcelona. Aleksis Liukko is currently studying music in Gothenburg, Sweden and the rhythm section of Tuuri and Ojajärvi are both students of the highly regarded Sibelius Academy's jazz department.
