Amalia Barbero “Lya” was born in Cordoba in 1987. The interest of this young
Cordoba Girl in music comes from childhood, when her grandfather started in the
various styles of flamenco and copla. It is for this reason that, with only 7 years of age
she was linked to the art of the Spanish song. At 16 she decided to change her style.
Lya began to compose and record vocals on albums of artists such as “Queco”, “El
Arrebato”, “Andy y Lucas”, etc. At age 19, began working with Joaquin Cortes as
his singer who has traveled around the world of the international scene. She also
accompanied famous singer Pastora Soler as her choir singer for over three years.
One day Lya received a call from Alejandro Sanz. A friend of hers, José Carlos
Gómez, had sent a demo to Alejandro without her knowing anything. From there
everything changed. Alejandro invited her to join the new label, which founded with
Pepe Barroso, called "Lola Records" and then Lya’s first solo album “Un Pellizco De
Tu Voz”, was born.
In 2012, Lya presented her second album “DE COLORES", which was full of feelings
and maturity and was produced by Javier Catalá, a renowned musician in the Spanish
scene.
In 2014 releases his latest album, "Lo Siento", his first single " Tu amor", theme with
great acceptance in networks and between colleagues.
Throughout her career, she has won many important awards, including the Cadena Dial
Award 2010; and had the opportunity to tour the scenarios in Spain and has already
carved a niche in the Spanish music.
