Antonio Castrignanò, musician from Salento, voice and tambourine in La Notte
della Taranta, has played and collaborated with artists such as Stewart Copeland,
Mauro Pagani, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Negramaro, The Chieftains, Goran Bregovic,
Ballakè Sissoko, Ludovico Einaudi, Marcan Dede…. !
Playing in prestigious international festivals through the years he became one of the
main figures in the re-discovery of Salento musical tradition. !
He composed the soundtrack for the acclaimed movie Nuovomondo directed by
Emanuele Crialese, winner of the 2006 Leone d'Argento at the Venice Cinema
Festival, and selected for the Nastri d'Argento and Ciak d'Oro 2007 awards. !
His music have also been included in the movie Bellas Mariposas directed by
Salvatore Mereu, winner of the Schermi di Qualità and FEDIC awards at the Venice
Film Festival 2012. !
