      This “becoming larger than life” on stage that pipers have. This “here I am” attitude. This arrogance. Budiño has it. He looks good, standing there. He’s free. He looks up, gazes in the distance, sets the course and sails away. Through the fishing nets and the airports. Laying down the bottom trawls. Travelling abroad. Nothing is new to him. (Sotaque – Carlos Blanco).

      Budiño is an atypical artist, a musician with his own "sotaque", a composer who inspires admiration among his peers, a fascinating creator that roots his music in Galician tradition subtly mixed with more contemporary sounds. Budiño has published six albums so far, PARALAIA, ARREDOR, ZUME DE TERRA, HOME, VOLTA and this last one which is number six, Sotaque. His creations and live shows have been recognized by critics worldwide and rewarded with prestigious awards in the genre. Budiño has taken his compositions around the globe, filling theaters with audiences eager to enjoy his performances. Cities like Shanghai, Damascus, Beirut, Casablanca, Tangier, Frankfurt, Milan, Glasgow, Buenos Aires, Bogota and Mexico City have witnessed his performances.

                                                                                                              Budiño first studied in the School of Bagpipes “Semente Nova” in Moaña  and later in the University of Vigo. Later he joined the Laboratory of Jazz Creativity in Vigo where he discovered his passion for composition. After working in the field of traditional Galician music for years, he explored other artistic channels, playing often with Jazz, classical, flamenco and pop musicians, and sharing the stage with artists like Van Morrison, Jerry Gonzalez, Jorge Pardo, Capercaillie or The Lorient Symphony Orchestra among others.

      Sotaque is the new album by Budiño. It was recorded in his own studio "Ardora" and mixed and mastered in the "Atlântico Blue Studios" in Lisbon. This self-composed work reflects the imprint of traditional music and especially Galician percussion, always played and polished by hand, along with the use of electronics with the distinctive accent of Budiño, his sotaque. A concept album where the different bagpipes, percussions and  Galician voices are in charge of setting the pace over nine songs composed by Budiño and a traditional piece full of subtlety and vitality. Friends invited to Budino´s Sotaque recording create in the particular atmosphere drawing hundreds of percussive layers;

      * Antonio Zambujo from Portugal sings to love in "Déixame Asiviñar", with lyrics by Carlos Blanco. *

        * LUIS TOSAR shows his Sotaque singing to life and “saudade”, with the song " Hoxe canto en Libertá" with lyrics by Celso Emilio Ferreiro.

      * The traditional singers CANTAREIROS DE O FIADEIRO sing and play the pandeiretas in the only cover song from Galician tradition, where Budiño´s bagpipe becomes another voice of the group of cantareiros.

      * Michael McGoldrick with his magic flute from Manchester, plays a muiñeira that entitles Budiños´s new album, Sotaque.
