      This album is an attempt at creating a multicultural meeting, based on selected masterpieces from the repertoire of the great composer. This CD features unique arrangements of Frederic Chopin´s masterpieces, performed on various ethnic and classical instruments from all over the world. It is a fusion which blends numerous musical traditions from five different continents with the beauty of Chopin´s works.

      Maria Pomianowska is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and a teacher. Since 1981 she has been studying unique playing techniques of Asian instruments and travelling to India, China, Korea, Mongolia, Japan and Middle East. In 1995-97 she created the Non-European Music Division at F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw. She successfully reconstructed the techniques of playing on two historical Polish string instruments: Suka from Biłgoraj and Fiddle from Płock. She is the founder and artistic director of “Zespół Polski”, which specialises in folk music of the Mazovia region and its influence on the music of the great composer, Frederic Chopin. Zespół Polski has visited Japan, Taiwan, France, Germany, Belgium, Algeria, Israel, Bulgaria, Austria, Siberia and many other countries and regions.
