Though they may be led by Woody Guthrie’s incredible grandson
on vocals and guitars, NYC’s Cole Quest & the City Pickers are a
true ensemble collaboration, sporting bouyant harmonies and
virtuouso harmonica, Dobro, mandolin, and banjo playing.
The band has shared bills with Billy Strings, Sierra Hull, Sarah
Jaroz, Della Mae, Tony Trischka, Michael Daves, earned spotlights
from The Bluegrass Situation, Bluegrass Today, Folk Alley, WFUV,
American Songwriter, and spent five weeks atop the Roots Music
Report Traditional Bluegrass Song Chart.
Their first album in four years, Homegrown features three
Woody Guthrie songs (including Woody’s iconic “Pastures of
Plenty”), a Woody Guthrie/Arlo Guthrie cowrite, and songs by
Peter Rowan and John Hartford.
