Les Oignons are back! The combo created and led by impetuous trumpeter Julien Silvand—a tap dancer who plays New Orleans jazz—returns with Tap That Jazz, this time in a new sextet format. June Milo has joined the band to add a pop touch to the standards and other compositions present in this album. But the formula that made the group a hit stays the same: subtle arrangements and tapdancing provide music that's determinedly catchy. The Oignons, in the line of bands like Orphéon Celesta or the Haricots Rouges, prove how fantastic New Orleans jazz can be as an evergreen platform for creating new music.
