Einstein's quote suggests that beauty alone can be empty, but that the added element of mystery is what
communicates depth and drama. With this in mind, acclaimed New York-based pianist Lewis Porter has composed
and arranged the ten tracks included in his new album 'Beauty & Mystery', which was recorded with John Patitucci on
double bass and Terri Lyne Carrington on drums. Saxophonist Tia Fuller (courtesy of Mack Avenue Records) is
featured on two tracks.
This album will mark the first time that Carrington and Patitucci have a recorded a full album of straight ahead
acoustic jazz together. They are old friends and have recorded tracks on a variety of albums, but nobody has ever
heard the amazing work they can do on a program of straight ahead and standard tunes.
