      Description hide

His roots come from a Bolivia father and a Spaniard mother although he considers himself Andalusian (Andalucia is in Southern Spain). Hector Guerra's career in the latin-electro music industry started as young as he was 19 years old when the famous and legendary American group Public Enemy saw his talents and decided to invite him to open their shows in 2003 around Spain.

In 2006 Hector formed the band Pachamama Crew in Madrid, a musical ensemble integrated by musicians mainly from South America (Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Argentina and Mexico), they sold a few thousands of copies of their first recordings by playing in Madrid subway which led Hector and his band to sing a contact with Warner Music brand and eventually the record "Tears" was released in 2011

The project did not last and Hector moved to Mexico where he started a new adventure with the releases a record trilogy formed by "Amor" (2012), "Gracias por Existir " (2015) and the most recent one "Desde el infierno" (2018). This trilogy is the result of an unusual journey within three of Mexico's indigenous communities (the Purépechas in Cherán forests in the state of Michoacan, the Wirrarikas in the Wirikuta desert in the state of Zacatecas and the Comcáac in the desert of the state of Sonora)

Hector Guerra's first two recordings placed him as of the most recognized artists in the independent electro music industry in Mexico; the single "What up" from the album "Amor" was the number 1 downloaded song in ITunes Mexico 2012, at same time American independent media pointed the album as one of the best records in 2012.

In his music Héctor Guerra combines the poetry of the hip hop, the beat of the dancehall, the flavor of the cumbia, the mysticism of the Andean music, the power of the electronics ... A perfect mixture between the urban sounds and the traditional Latin music. Hereby Guerra beat joins in the song these two worlds across one cumbia-trap with heaps in spanglish, supported by the Caribbean beatmaker KJU or by Profesor Angel Sound from Barcelona.

Among some outstanding collaborations we can find one with Dr Shenka, vocalist of the Mexican band Pantheon Rococo, another one with the father and teacher of the son jarocho Andrés Flores with his rebel voice and himself being a legend within the Sonideros world in Mexico City, another collaboration was with Alberto Pedraza in a new version of the song called "The cumbia callejera", we can also find more collaborations from Chilean singer Mariel Mariel , the legend of Latin rap Mellow Man Ace , the power of the scratch from DJ Aztek 732, to the Braulio Schwienstieger's tuba arrangements (who has played with some big names such as Gorillaz, Joan Sebastian and Jenny Rivera)
