One day back in 2010, I was walking in Madrid with my friend and great poet José Miguel Molero Cid. We were talking about the great Masters of Art who have been and actually are our references.
While I couldn’t stop talking about Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la Isla, he did the same with Miguel Hernández and Pablo Neruda. At one point in the conversation, the name of genius Pablo Picasso came up.We were walking near the Reina Sofia Museum and, since I never had seen the Guernica before, we went there with just one goal, see the painting. Before entering the room where the work is, José Miguel covered my eyes, I stood in front of the box and after a few seconds of waiting, he took his hands away and... it was simply stunning. It was right from that moment when the flamenco show Guernica 75 started to be constructed, which later would lead to this new work entitled PICASSARES, my humble way to thank a fellow by the impact and the changes that his work and his genius have inflicted upon my music. (Daniel Casares)
With this new album I want to deeply thank everybody who have jumped on this “Picasso madness boat” and continue rowing with all their might to keep sailing the seas of Art.
