An established name in world wide jazz communities, Lew Soloff is a trumpet virtuoso whose versatility is much in demand for studio sessions and movie soundtracks. He first came to prominence in the late sixties with the Grammy Award winning jazz/rock band Blood Sweat & Tears and later recorded 16 albums with the Manhattan Jazz Quintet and five albums under his own name. Soloff´s extensive performances have included gigs with Ornette Coleman, Frank Sinatra, Thad Jones, Machito, Marianne Faithfull, Barbra Streisand, Carla Bley, Dizzy Gillespie and numerous others. Soloff continues a 30-year-long association with the Gil Evans Orchestra, plays lead trumpet with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Orchestra, and often joins Ray Anderson for the world´s wittiest and heaviest brass team. On his new album, "Rainbow Mountain," he delivers 10 tunes packed with dance groove, funky rhythm, and rock power featuring gripping versions of rock classics such as "Up From The Skies," "Suzie Q," and "Stairway To Heaven."

For this band, Soloff teams up with some of the most experienced instrumentalists on the pop/jazz scene. Roaring saxophone player "Blue Lou" Marini is best known for his playing and acting in the cult movie Blues Brothers. An original member of the Saturday Night Live Band (1976-1983), he played on albums by numerous superstars including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, the Rolling Stones, José Carreras, Frank Zappa, Dr. John, Eric Clapton and many more. Guitarist Joe Beck, a household name in the pop/jazz strain, was a member in the Miles Davis Group (1968-1970), recorded with great names such as Bob James, Jimmy Smith, James Brown and Esther Phillips, and later worked as a house arranger for CTI Records. One of the most respected and in-demand electric bassists on the music scene, Mark Egan was a sideman on dozens of albums by artists like Sting, Pat Metheny, David Sanborn, Stan Getz, Vanessa Williams, Rory Block, and more. On some of these occasions he worked with drummer Danny Gottlieb who in addition is also known for his recordings with John McLaughlin, Manhattan Transfer, and Mike Stern.
