Long hailed as the “King of Zydeco,” Clifton Chenier also sang the blues. Jazz critic Ralph J. Gleason once noted that Chenier was "... one of the most surprising musicians I have heard in some time, with a marvelously moving style of playing the accordion, blues accordion, that's right, blues accordion." This collection brings together two earlier albums and presents a mix of original and cover songs performed in Chenier’s zydeco-blues style. Songs of note include “Ain’t No Need of Crying (Every Day Is the Same),” “Rosemary,” “Blues After Hours,” Hungry Man Blues,” and his bluesy version of “In the Mood.”
