Rita Marcotulli was born in Rome in 1959, and studied piano at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory. Since the early Eighties she´s been performing with relevant European and American artists, such as Chet Baker, Jon Christensen, Palle Danielsson, Peter Erskine, Richard Galliano, Steve Grossman, Joe Henderson, François Jeanneau, Helène La Barrière, Joe Lovano, Charlie Mariano, Marilyn Mazur, Pat Metheny, Sal Nistico, Tony Oxley, Michel Portal, Enrico Rava, Aldo Romano, Kenny Wheeler. Rita Marcotulli has been awarded “Best Italian Jazz musician” at Top Jazz 2011, the critics poll made by Musica Jazz, the main Italian jazz music magazine.In this album recorded with Javier Girotto and Luciano Biondini she performs compositions inspired by her works for cinema.
