Louis Billelette de Villemeur is a saxophone player from Paris. He studied with André Villeger in Paris and graduated as a Master’s of Music Performance at the university of the arts in Lausanne, with Robert Bonisolo as his teacher.Louis plays in a variety of bands between France and Switzerland as a leader and sideman and regularly appears on Europes most prestigious stages like the Montreux Jazz fes-tival, Cully Jazz, JazzAscona, Jazz-im-Bess and Jazz in Marciac to name a few. He comes highly recommended from the European Jazz Community for his soulful and sophisticated sound, deeply connected to the Jazz tradition and its mystic legends, Louis arrives incorruptible, charismatic and present.
“My brother Roman is my main influence, the underlying reason for my fate in music. Diagnosed ‘schizophrenic’at the age of 16, he is now 29. A true and rebellious artist, with an offbeat look at reality, he brings essential light in my daily and artistic life. It was natural that I mix my work with his. The works presented are part of a series of more that 5OO paintings,designed at the Institute where he resides. Each piece of this album is an immersion in one of these works.”
